OUR CHAPTER: DESERT VIEW DECA
Desert View DECA has been a business organization at Desert View High School for over 20 years. Students in the program participate in various community and outreach activities. Our students compete at the local, state, and national levels. We have had students will competition awards at all three levels DECA offers. Several members have been given scholarships and other prizes for their accomplishments. Students have received various awards and recognitions such as the Dorothy O. Finley Outstanding Teen Citizen Award, Kino Rotary Character Award, Congressional Honors, and have become US Presidential Scholar nominees in CTE. Upon graduation we have had many students go on to ranked post-secondary business programs, moved on to management careers, and started their own businesses.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Our guiding principles explain how we fulfill our mission by addressing what we do and the outcomes we expect. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community and promoting competition. Our student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, and experienced leaders.
